tic-tac-SHOOT

Video

It's the classic tic-tac-toe you know and love, with a whole new world of strategy. Place guns, spin them, and SHOOT to clear the board and get three in a row. Before you know it, your guns will be in an old fashioned Mexican stand-off. Do you have what it takes to get three in a row?

Rules:
- Each turn place an X or O shaped gun
- Get three in a row to win
- Each turn, SHOOT or spin guns up to 2 times
- Have fun, partner!

I made tic-tac-SHOOT after setting out with a simple goal: Turn tic-tac-toe into a competitive, combinatorial game. The designing of tic-tac-SHOOT involved a lot of studying on my part, to understand what makes combinatorial games "deep." After much discussion and theorizing, I've made a game I can be proud of. The other development challenge of tic-tac-SHOOT was the online matches, which I didn't have experience with previously. I ended up using EOS Transport with Mirror, and I'm now much more confident in my ability to implement online services in future projects.
Roguelike Tech Demo

A roguelike in the early stages of development. The following is a quick showcase of the engine so far.

Flappy Gunner

The premise is simple: Flappy bird. With guns. A simple silly project I used to learn Unity, which turned out suprisingly fun.

The premise is simple: Flappy bird. With guns. A simple silly project I used to learn Unity, which turned out suprisingly fun.

For this game I created 4 enemy types:

- The first is the basic pink slime head, it hovers in place and will fall after being hit once.
- The second is the blue demon slime head. It is larger and has 2 health but approaches the player slowly giving them time to deal with it.
- The third is a golden slime. This one levatates up and down rapidly and has one health, but gives the player a lot of points if they kill it.
- The last is the monkey slime, which slowly circles the player as it approaches. This enemy only appears later in the game, making it a rare and scary sight.

Additionally, these players can be attacked again after they fall, clearing them from the path and giving the player extra points.
Scrolling Shooter Group Project

A classic scrolling shooter I cocreated with Aaron Pinchera and Jacob Stewart for a game design class. Shoot lots of enemies to charge a massive laser attack and quickly kill the boss.

Tyrones Great Chase

A wacky Flash game about training a racing chicken. Due to its unconventional control scheme, Tyrone's Great Chase is often challenging and hilarious. Winner of Kongregate's Game in Ten Days #54.

Slime Bounce

An 'endless runner' about a bouncing slime made in Flash for a game jam. It's nicely polished and has a cool bossfight at the end.

An 'endless runner' about a bouncing slime made in Flash for a game jam. It's nicely polished and has a great bossfight at the end. Sadly, I wasn't able to get around to finishing it until after the end of Flash, but thanks to Ruffle JS, it can finally be experienced online as intended!
